Article III. Additional Leave Policies

(1) Regular full-time employees may receive up to three days of paid bereavement leave upon the death of the employee’s child, including biological, adoptive, or foster child, stepchild or a child for whom the employee stands in loco parentis, is a legal guardian for or is a de facto parent; parent, including biological, adoptive, de facto, or foster parent, stepparent, or legal guardian of an employee, parent-in-law, or the employee’s spouse or registered domestic partner, or a person who stood in loco parentis when the employee was a minor child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, sibling-in-law, or stepsiblings, or other relatives living as a member of the immediate household of the employee. The employee may request additional days of PTO or sick leave for purposes of bereavement, subject to the approval of the general manager or the general manager’s designee.

(2) Regular part-time employees may receive up to three days (prorated, based on a percentage of their regular part-time weekly hours divided by 40) of paid bereavement leave upon the death of those family members listed above. The employee may request additional days of PTO or sick leave or floating holiday for bereavement, subject to the approval of the general manager or the general manager’s designee.
